So Far So True

Can we remain true, regardless of the distance between us?

The word true did not originally refer to factual correctness. Etymologically, it first meant sincere, faithful, and trustworthy. It speaks to an enduring way of relating to one another.

In this exhibition, the participating artists navigate different forms of long-distance relationships—with family, loved ones, or even a city. Time differences can be intimate and deeply personal. Meanwhile, technology and communication tools have reshaped how we wait, long, and remain connected. Through the lens of distance, we revisit how individuals experience time and space, confronting the differences and mismatches they reveal. Distilling from nostalgia, distance invites us to search for where the presence of a relationship truly resides.
